Senior Dragons win at
Highview during Homecoming game

The Silver Creek Dragons Senior Football team traveled to Southern High School Saturday night, October 7, to face the Highview Seniors for the Highview Homecoming game. It was a beautiful night for football but if Highview expected the Dragons to go down without a fight, they were sadly mistaken!

Both teams pushed hard toward the goal but fumbles by Highview with Dragon recoveries allowed the Dragons to retain control of the ball the majority of the ball game. The Dragon team really worked together with outstanding tackles and offensive plays paying off for the win.

The Dragons scored the only touchdown and absolutely refused to let Highview get within scoring distance as the Dragons took the 6-0 victory.

Earlier on Saturday, the Dragon Pee Wee and Junior teams traveled to Madison to play. The Pee Wees played a really great game and were leading 7-6 but were overcome when Madison ran the ball in for an extra two point conversion, with Madison taking the 8-7 victory.

The Junior Dragons played next against Madison and were able to score three touchdowns and take home the 25-13 victory.

On Sunday afternoon, West Clark Football continued with the Borden Braves Pee Wee team going up against New Washington at Silver Creek Township Park. This new Borden team fought hard and played an outstanding game but was beaten by New Washington 20-2

All in all, it was a great weekend for football in West Clark. Next Saturday, the Silver Creek Dragons will travel to Scott County with all three teams and the Borden Braves Pee Wees will travel to Fern Creek.
