First, remember to fasten

Remember, all you potential bank robbers out there. First,
observe all Indiana safety laws while driving around.
Because a suspected bank robber was not using his seat belt, he was apprehended
by an alert Indiana State Police officer on Tuesday afternoon, August 28.
1st Sergeant Dave Travis of the ISP post at Seymour was working an Operation
Pull-Over traffic project on U.S. Highway 50 in Seymour on that Tuesday
afternoon when he noticed a blue 1999 Chevy Blazer pass him.
As it passed, the officer noticed the driver was not wearing his seat belt. He
pulled the Blazer over and asked for the driver’s license. The male driver
told 1st Sgt. Travis that he did not have a driver license and
instead handed him a social security card.
When the officer ran a check on the card, the driver, Rodney W. Prewitt, 40,
Charlestown, came back as wanted in the State of Kentucky for bank robbery.
Reportedly, Prewitt had robbed a bank in the Paducah, Ky., area.
Prewitt was placed under arrest and transported to the Jackson County Jail in
Brownstown by Trp. Jared Black.
He was being held awaiting extradition to Kentucky to face criminal charges
there.
CRP participants reminded
of September 15 deadline
CRP participants are reminded of the September 15 deadline
to request and perform managed haying and grazing.
Eligible practices are: CP1- Grasses and
legumes; CP2- Warm Season Grasses and CP10- Grass already established
(re-enrolled CRP acreage).
CP8A grass waterways and CP-21 filter strips
are not eligible to hay or graze under any circumstances.
Request must be made at the FSA office prior
to performing the haying or grazing. The hay may be sold to any eligible
livestock producer, or the haying and/or grazing may be leased to an eligible
livestock producer. Anyone leasing the acreage shall sign an agreement with FSA
stating that they will not sublease the acreage. The CRP participant and the
person leasing the hay or grazing will then receive written notification of
approval.
After the haying or grazing is completed,
the applicant must report the specific acres of CRP that were hayed or grazed to
the FSA office.
These acres may be hayed or grazed and will
have a 25 percent payment reduction on the annual payment on the specific acres
that are hayed or grazed (not on the total CRP acreage). Spotchecks are
required.
One third of the acreage may be hayed each
year over three years or 100 percent can be hayed in one year making the acreage
ineligible to hay or graze in the following two years.
Anyone interested please contact the Clark
County FSA Office at 256-2330, ext. 2.
