 IU Southeast fills
its first residence hall

One lodge down, four to go.
Indiana University Southeast is proud to announce that it has enough applications to fill the first of five brand new, lodge-style residence halls, and is steadily moving to fill the remaining four buildings.
The lodges will open for the fall 2008 semester and will house more than 400 students. Construction is ongoing and on schedule for all five halls. Model apartments will be ready for viewing in med-March, and students will receive apartment and roommate assignments in the summer.
Once the doors open, the lodges will provide all the comforts of home. The idea behind the lodge-style halls is to create and grow a strong sense of community for the IU Southeast campus.
Included in the affordable rates are amenities such as high-speed Internet service for each resident, wireless availability in each building, all utilities, in-hall laundry facilities, cable TV, a great room common area in each building, a computer lab in each building, fully furnished apartments, a full kitchen in each apartment, and state-of-the-art security features.
The first full lodge is a milestone for the campus, but don’t worry–there are still rooms available for students who want to be part of the first generation of Grenadiers to live on campus.
Housing applications, rates, and other information are available at ius.edu/housing. The lodges will be filled on first-come, first-served basis, so applying early is important. Gather up your roommates and send in your application now.

Bicentennial Planning
Committee to host
meeting tomorrow night

Many new and exciting events are being considered for the birthday Bicentennial Celebration for Charlestown this summer.
A city-wide meeting to finalize the committee’s needed to manage all of these fun events will be held tomorrow night, January 31 at 6:30 p.m. at the Arts & Enrichment Center on Water Street in Charlestown.
The CBC invites every business, civic organization, service group, school and church to send at lease one representative to this important meeting. Working together to organize this fabulous festival the CBC needs many "helping hands" from neighbors and friends to make it successful.
"The Charlestown Beautification Committee is dedicated to the goal of sponsoring a fabulous festival commemorating the founding and flourishing of our town, a 200th birthday party that will be remembered long after the final glimmer of the fireworks extravaganza bring the festivities to a close," stated CBC member Dixie Busby.
Please plan to attend the meeting or call 256-7126 to volunteer. The CBC welcomes volunteers and all the corporate sponsors that make the events of Founder’s Day possible.
Call to see how you can be an important part of this historic event.
