2nd annual SPD Christmas for Kids Car Show/ Trunk of Treat to be held October 29 Print

The second annual Sellersburg Police Department’s Christmas for Kids Car Show/ Trunk or Treat will be held on American Legion Post #204 on Saturday, October 29. The event will be held from 12 noon to 4 p.m. Registration begins at 11 a.m.
The registration fee will be $10 with a bag of candy or $15 without a bag of candy.
Plaques and specialty trophies will be awarded.
The idea for the car show is to raise money for less fortunate children at Christmas time and bring the community closer together. This function will provide a safe environment for all its participants. Car owners are asked to bring a bag of candy to pass out to the treaters.
The community is invited to bring their child dressed in a Halloween costume to participate in a Trunk or Treat function during the car show.
All proceeds from this event go to less fortunate children at Christmas time. Sellersburg Police Officers, along with several community members, volunteer their time to take the children shopping a few weeks before Christmas. While the program’s main goal is to purchase clothing, each child also gets the opportunity to select toys and games. After the shopping is complete, the children are treated to a nice, hot, sit-down lunch and the families are provided with a food basket for their Christmas dinner.
The American Legion Post #204 is located at 412 N. New Albany Street in Sellersburg.
