A new drug dealing case filed in Scott Circuit Court offers few details except the fact that the suspect charged sold about .5 of a gram of methamphetamine.

Kevin J. Fox, 39, entered a preliminary plea of not guilty to the one Level 5 felony count of dealing in methamphetamine, the addictive home-made substance that contains battery acid among its ingredients.

Fox is alleged to have sold methamphetamine near his home on Scottsburg’s south side on March 5. Patrolmen Troy Ford and James Vires worked the case, with Ptl. Ford preparing the brief probable cause affidavit.

At his initial hearing before Judge Roger Duvall of Scott Circuit Court on March 9, Fox entered his plea and was assigned an initial jury trial date of July 7. He is being represented by a public defender.

His bail on the charge is set at $25,000 by corporate surety bond or $5,000 by cash.
