Four confirmed dead in Washington County Print

The storm that ripped through Washington County just before 3 p.m. Friday wasn't the first to hit the county, but according to Sheriff Claude Combs, it was the deadliest.

Combs said there are four confirmed dead from Washington County. He said four others are at area hospitals in critical condition and 8 or 9 others are in the hospital with injuries not considered to be life threatening.

Rescue efforts were completed just after 8 p.m. Friday night and resumed first thing Saturday morning.

Combs complimented the efforts by his department, Washington County Emergency Management and all other parties that were and will continue to be involved.

Be sure to check next week's papers for complete storm coverage.
