EHS students meet Lt. Governor PDF Print E-mail

On Sat., Sept. 27, three Eastern High School students and two sponsors traveled to Indianapolis to accept the My Community, My Vision grant from Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann.  The grant combines the Lt. Governor’s office, the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority, the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs, and Ball State University to support the students in creating positive change in their communities; Eastern was one of only five applicants chosen in the state.

SHS Soccer Team Named as Mid-Southern Conference Champions PDF Print E-mail

The 2014 Scottsburg High School Warrior soccer team finished its season as sectional runner-up in the championship game against perennial powerhouse Columbus North on Saturday, Oct. 11, losing 0-7.  With fall break vacations, injuries and a red card carry over from game one, the Warriors were without three starters and two subs, including senior goalkeeper Kyle Harrison.  Sophomore Logan Cooper filled in and provided 15 saves during the game.

Christmas is a special holiday for  young ones and even for those young at heart. Kids wake up, usually before the sun comes up, anxious to see what Santa has left for them. Many kids wait and wait for Santa and finally fall asleep on Christmas Eve just to dream about Christmas morning.


Pirates capture Sectional with 18-7 win over North Harrison

The Pirates of Charlestown traveled to Ramsey last Friday night with the hopes of bringing home their second Sectional title in three years. Standing in their way were the Cougars of North Harrison. The Cougars were playing in just their second Sectional title game. North Harrison battled for the title as they held the 7-6 lead until mid fourth quarter. Charlestown found the endzone twice in the last 7:42 to capture the 18-7 victory. The Sectional title is Charlestown’s fifth in the history of Pirate football.
