Friday Night on the Square, Sept.19th, kicks off the season.  This is a unique event, planned from 6-10 pm, around the Salem Square.  Traffic will be closed to the Square, to allow for vendors and businesses to show case their product and services.  Pedestrians will be allowed to walk around the historic Square.  This event has become a place for people to meet up with family and friends.

Four women receive scholarships to area colleges PDF Print E-mail

The Women’s Foundation of Southern Indiana (WFSI), a fund of the Community Foundation of Southern Indiana, awarded four women with scholarships to local area colleges for the 2014/2015 year.
These non-renewable scholarships were given to women who were 25 years or older and reside in Clark, Floyd, or Harrison county and for first time students or those continuing their education. “[We] offer scholarships for women attending IUS, Ivy Tech Community and Purdue College of Technology,” said WFSI Advisory Board President, Donna Riley.  “We will also start to offer a scholarship to a female resident of the New Albany Housing Authority.”

Autism Awareness Ride and Auction held to benefit New Washington Elementary School PDF Print E-mail

The Iron Order Motorcycle Club (New Washington Chapter) along with the help of Ryan and Pam Weber, hosted an Autism Awareness Ride and Auction on Saturday, September 6. The event benefited the special needs department of New Washington Elementary School.
