?    The Charlestown Beautification Committee and Charlestown Mayor Bob Hall are working together to build a Christmas city. They need your help.
    This year light up Charlestown and the Christmas season will be very exciting as they unveil their 40 foot Christmas tree in the park.
    They are also making big changes on the square and around the city. They need volunteers to help make this happen.
    They need volunteers for the square, the A&E Center, Greenway Park and for the entrances coming into the city.
    Please join them on Tuesday, October 21 and Tuesday, October 28 at the Arts and Enrichment Center, 999 Water Street, at 6:30 p.m. to discuss the plans and to get involved with helping them make Charlestown a “Christmas City.”
    They are also encouraging families, churches and businesses to begin planning your Christmas decorating.

?Halloween Party, Haunted House fundraiser to be held at Tumbletown PDF Print E-mail

?    United All-Star Cheerleading will host a Halloween Party and Haunted House fundraiser Saturday evening, October 25 from 6 to 9 p.m, at the Tumbletown Gym, located at 250 Harrison Street behind the North Clark Outreach Center.  
    Fun for all ages, games and prizes (.50 per game or unlimited game play for a $7 wristband), drinks and snacks (.50 to $1) including hotdogs, chips and popcorn; and the haunted house (admission $2 per visit).  
    Costumes are optional, but encouraged.  
    Moments Photography will be in attendance taking Halloween photos for packages ranging in price from $20 to $30.  
    Come join the fun and bring the kids for some seasonal good fun and entertainment.

?New Washington boys basketball golf scramble to be held October 18 PDF Print E-mail

?    The New Washington Boys basketball team will host a golf scramble on Saturday, October 18. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with tee off at 9 a.m.
    The golf scramble will be held at Spring Hills Golf Course located at 4766 West Butler Falls in Hanover.
    The cost is $50 per person or $200 per team, limited to the first 20 teams. Please register your team by Wednesday, October 15.
    Lunch will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
    Prizes will include: First place team- $300; Second place team- $200; Third place team- $100; Skin Pot Available- $20 per team; Mulligan-$5 per person; Longest Drive; Closest to Pin;
    A raffle will also be held at the end of the tournament. Each player will receive one ticket for the drawing. Additional tickets may be purchased for $5. Prizes will include golf equipment, shirts and Mustang apparel.

?Borden employees honored by Kimball for 35 years of service PDF Print E-mail

?    Earlier this Summer, 52 Kimball International employees, including two from Kimball Office-Borden, were honored for reaching 35 years of service in 2008 at an employee luncheon hosted by Chief Executive Officer and President Jim Thyen and Chairman of the Board Doug Habig.
    The Borden employees honored were Connie Burton and Inez Cochran.
    The luncheon was held at Kimball’s Jasper Showroom. Honorees dined with officers, had photos taken and received a gift. They also toured the showroom.
    To date, 413 employees have been recognized for 35 years of service during the company’s history.

?    The City of Salem Parks and Recreation along with the Washington County Humane Society and the Salem Public Library are planning their annual Halloween and Howl-O-Ween Party for Saturday, October 25, from 3:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. at Community Park, (ball field area behind KD Backroads), in Salem.  The location has been changed to accommodate more parking.
