Salem man shoots self in foot in hunting accident PDF Print E-mail


Matthew Caudill of Salem went deer hunting on November 15, 2011, near Enon Church Rd in Washington County.  Indiana Conservation Officers were called after Caudill suffered from a self inflicted gunshot wound to his left foot.  Caudill was climbing his tree stand and had tied a pull rope to his shot gun.  When Caudill started to pull the slack from the rope attached to his firearm, his gun fired and hit him on his left foot.  Caudill was transported to St. Vincent Hospital in Salem and later transported by ambulance to University of Louisville Hospital.
