Winning high school basketball games on the road is a hard thing to do. It’s made even more difficult when you turn the ball over, miss shots and get killed on the boards, which is what West Washington did in losing, 68-37, Thursday at Borden.
The reason for two of those areas has a lot more to do with size than basketball ability.
Lady Senator Head Coach Wade Tomlinson said he knows before the game tips off if his team is in trouble or not by comparing the size of players.

Pedestrian Dies in Grant Line crash PDF Print E-mail

On December 20, 2011 at approximately 3:54 p.m., the New Albany Police Department received a call regarding a crash involving a pedestrian on Grant Line Road near Jolissaint Ave.  Due to the severity of the injuries to the pedestrian, the Floyd County CART Team was called to the scene to assist with the investigation.

1 Flown to U of L after 150 crash PDF Print E-mail

On December 21, 2011 at approximately 4:50 p.m. the Floyd County Sheriff’s Department received a call regarding an injury crash at US 150 and Old Vincennes Road in Floyds Knobs.  Emergency Responders arrived to find one occupant in the two-vehicle crash had been ejected from a vehicle. The Floyd County Combined Accident Reconstruction Team (CART) was also called to assist with the investigation.

Community-Wide Safety and Awareness Fair on Jan. 14 PDF Print E-mail

The Scott County AmeriCorp, New Hope Services, and Prevent Child Abuse, Scott County Council are partnering to host a community wide Safety and Awareness Fair on Saturday, January 14, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at three locations in Scott County. The Fair will be held at the Scott County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Austin, Lexington Fire Department and Scottsburg Armory.

United Way Accepting 2012 Grant Applications PDF Print E-mail

United Way of Scott County is seeking programs that address the changing human service needs of Scott County residents.
These programs should be held within the geographical confines of the county and available and accessible to all.
United Way is especially interested in funding programs that deal with its three vision areas: Investing in Children, Promoting Health and Independence, and Helping Families in Crisis.
