Scottsburg police were surprised to find weapons in car being driven by a convicted felon early on Friday morning, July 27, in Scottsburg,
The blue Toyota driven by Paul D. Stucker, 52, Scottsburg, first attracted the attention of patrolmen Troy Ford and Shawn Hurt as it pulled out of a bank parking lot onto Sara Lane. As it proceeded east on Owen Street, the car reportedly picked up speed. Ptl. Ford and Hurt stopped the car after they confirmed it was speeding at 35 mph in a 20 mph zone.

A Scottsburg woman had her dog impounded on July 19 after the animal bit a mail carrier and then found herself in jail on July 24 on a variety of drug-related charges.
Shauna L. Lucas, also known as Shauna L. Merritt, 34, first came to law enforcement attention on Thursday, July 19, when her dog allegedly attacked and bit a female mail carrier twice.

The Salem High School football Alumni weekend had been moved to Friday and Saturday, Aug. 24 and 25.
Due to some scheduling conflicts and time constraints, the 4th annual Salem Football Alumni Associations Alumni Events have been moved to the second week of the varsity schedule.
