FC wins tennis sectional, again! PDF Print E-mail

The Floyd Central boys’ tennis team won the sectional championship last Friday, 5-0 over Salem.     
Floyd Central won four of the five matches 6-0, 6-0, with Alex Martin winning at #1 Singles 6-1, 6-2.
Floyd Central faced New Albany Tuesday in the first round of Regionals.

Pirates cage Panthers 47-0 to claim share of MSC title PDF Print E-mail

Pirate Nation answered the call to fill the stands at Corydon Central last Friday night. Many Pirate faithful made the journey down I-64 to show their Pirate Pride as the visiting bleachers filled quickly leaving standing room only. Pirate fans lined the fence to be sure to catch a glimpse of what was one of the hottest games in the area.

Friday Night on the Square part of Old Settlers’ Days Festival PDF Print E-mail

The chill of fall will soon be in the air, which means Friday Night on the Square is also quickly approaching. The festival will take place on September 14 from 6 to 10 pm. Traffic will be blocked off from the square during this time.
In addition to the various booths that are scattered around the square representing local business and organizations, the Washington County Chamber of Commerce has been working hard to bring some new attractions to the Friday night celebration, and even a few familiar events from past festivals.

It was a two-day affair, and while the home team controlled the line of scrimmage on Saturday, the West Washington Senators couldn’t overcome their mistakes, falling to their Patoka Lake Athletic Conference (PLAC) foe, the Commodores of Perry Central, 27-6 in varsity football action at Art Sander’s Field.
