Jason Blonde has always had a love for speed and racing. Growing up in Litchfield, Mich., just five miles from Butler Speedway, he spent a lot of time at the track and has been racing sprint cars since graduating from high school. His love of racing started at a young age and his passion and dedication to the sport is stronger than ever.
On March 19, Blonde earned the title “Fastest of the Fast” by competing in the World’s Fastest Half-Mile Speed Trials and won. The competition was part of the 50-year anniversary celebration of Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tenn. He completed a blistering lap traveling 144.871 miles per hour in 13.245 seconds. He competed against Ford NASCAR drivers in a street legal Mustang, a Tony Stewart-owned sprint car, two supermodifieds and a world superbike champion for the title.

G’ville students found the Treasure of Reading PDF Print E-mail

Greenville students and families charted their course for some reading spirits on March 1 by attending a program called The Treasure of Reading for students in Kindergarten through second grade.
More than 300 children and adults attended this program, which was filled with family activities to strengthen reading skills and promote a love for reading.

Investigation on-going in wake of accident that killed Scottsburg woman PDF Print E-mail

Clark County officers are still awaiting the outcome of toxicology reports and other evidence in connection with a fatal accident that happened north of Henryville on Saturday, March 26, that killed a Scottsburg woman.
A funeral service was conducted this past week for Christine Jones, 76, the Scottsburg woman who died at the scene of a two-car collision on U.S. Highway 31 north of Henryville on Saturday evening, March 26.
