With the score tied at 7-7 at the half, the Floyd Central Highlanders outscored the New Albany Bulldogs 21-7 in the second half to go on to win the game 28-14.
First, after a 70 yard drive, Kyle Bramble ran in a touchdown from 13 yards out, with Jason VanBuren kicking the PAT. That gave them a 14-7 lead, but they weren’t done in the 3rd quarter.

Pirates take 40-7 win over Musketeers PDF Print E-mail

Pirate Nation filed into The Boneyard early last Friday night for the 7 p.m. scheduled kick off with the visiting Musketeers of Eastern for the final regular season game. The fans wanted to help honor the fall sports senior athletes prior to the kick off. All seniors were honored prior to the ballgame including the four Pirate grid iron seniors runningback Ryan Miles, wide receiver David Cissell, defensive lineman Zach Jenkins and linebacker Craig Jackson. The foursome began the game as the captains unit for the coin toss. The Pirates backed their seniors all night as Charlestown took the 40-7 victory holding Eastern out of the endzone until the final quarter. Charlestown improved their overall record to 7-2 and 6-1 in the Mid Southern Conference. Eastern fell to 5-4 overall.

Pedestrian struck, killed north of Pekin PDF Print E-mail

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at 5:10 a.m. Monday morning on State Road 60 just north of Pekin.
According to a press release issued by the Washington County Sheriff’s Department, a 2009 Kia Sorento driven by Michelle Feist was traveling East on 60, North of the Pekin City Limits.
