The Clark County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched at 9:34 p.m. to a two vehicle accident on Highway 62 at Stacy Springs Court on Monday evening, December 20.
The first Sheriff’s Deputy on scene was Eric Balingit. Also on scene were the Charlestown Police Department and New Chapel Fire and EMS.

Sellersburg detectives investigating battery to an 18-day old child in Scott County PDF Print E-mail

On today’s date (Dec. 22) at approximately 1:30 a.m., detectives from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg were sent to Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville, KY to investigate an allegation that an 18 day old male, Gaven Henderson, of Scottsburg, had suffered inflicted, life threatening injuries.

The only information available at this time is that the mother of the child found him unresponsive at approximately 10:30 p.m. last night, and called 911. The child was transported to the Scott County Memorial Hospital and then transferred to the Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville, Ky where he later died.

An autopsy will be performed at the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville, KY tomorrow morning to determine the exact cause of death.

City joins county in withholding funds from growth partnership PDF Print E-mail

The Washington County Economic Growth Partnership took another hit this week when the Salem City Council voted to withhold $25,000 they had budgeted for the group in 2011 at its regular meeting Monday (Dec. 13).
The city council’s move came off the heels of a similar decision made by the Washington County Council at its regular meeting on Dec. 6. At that meeting, the council decided to move money from the Growth Partnership’s line item and put it into a fund that they council controls for economic development.
