A daytime traffic accident on Friday, December 31, in Scottsburg resulted in injury to four people.
According to the report issued by the Scottsburg Police Department, a 1989 Chevy Caprice being driven north on U.S. Highway 31 by Freda Redifer, 69, Scottsburg, was rear-ended by a 2007 Toyota Yaris operated by Jennifer L. Mace, 31, Scottsburg. The collision occurred just after 12:30 p.m. at the highway’s intersection at York Road.
Redifer told Sgt. Joe Nicholson that she had stopped, waiting to turn left onto York Rd. when the accident happened.

Two pedestrians struck by Jeffersonville man PDF Print E-mail

On December 28 at approximately 7:15 p.m. the New Albany Police Department received a call regarding two pedestrians struck on Slate Run Road near the Slate Run Elementary School.  
The pedestrians, both elderly females, were transported to local hospitals where one of them died as a result of her injuries.

Car crash in Clark County kills one PDF Print E-mail

On January 2 at approximately 6 p.m., troopers from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg along with Clark County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an automobile crash on Interstate 65 North Bound at the 4.4 Mile Marker in Clark County. When officers arrived they discovered a blue 1997 Acura TL with extensive damage with Cody A. Smith, 23, from New Albany, IN inside. Cody A. Smith was transported from the scene to the Clark County Hospital in Jeffersonville, IN where he was later pronounced dead.

Salem Lions set school record in 104-75 rout of Madison Cubs PDF Print E-mail

The Salem High School boys’ basketball team took their loss in the championship game of the First Harrison Bank Holiday Tournament out on Madison on Dec. 28.
The Lions not only beat the visiting Cubs, they blew them out, 104-75, setting a school record for most points scored in a game.
The previous record was 102 and was set in 1988.
