Bradie Shrum has started taking appointments for Kindergarten Enrollment for the 2011-2012 school year on Thursday and Friday, April 7 and 8 from 8:30- 2:00. To be eligible for kindergarten a student must be five years old on or before August 1, 2011.

Several political candidates filing to run  for their parties’ nominations in the May 3 Primary Election are facing opposition, according to the listing issued by the Scott County Clerk’s Office.
An unusual situation arose over one mayoral candidate in Austin who filed for the Democrat Party’s nomination but was not shown on that official listing issued after the Friday, February 18, deadline. Another Austin candidate was inadvertently left off the late filing listing issued by the Clerk’s Office.

“Save the Wall” steering committee is formed for Englishton Park Wall PDF Print E-mail

On Wednesday, February 23, the steering committee for the newly formed “Save the Wall” effort met and continued to organize mobilization activities to preserve more than 200 feet of the historic stone wall in front of Englishton Park in Lexington.

Clark County farmer wins $2,500 for 4?H through America’s Farmers Grow CommunitiesSM Program PDF Print E-mail

Ken Yeager of New Washington has been selected as a winner in the America’s Farmers Grow CommunitiesSM program, which gave farmers the opportunity to win $2,500 for their favorite local nonprofit organizations. The Monsanto Fund sponsors the program, and winning farmers designate a local nonprofit organization to benefit from the donations. Yeager has designated Clark County 4?H, located in Charlestown to receive the donation.
