Pirates lose fourth quarter lead, fall at Brownstown 36-31 PDF Print E-mail

 

The Pirate Nation traveled to rival Brownstown last Friday night to cheer on Charlestown during the first Mid Southern Conference contest in the young season. After coming off a disappointing first week loss to Madison, the Pirates were pumped and ready to clash with the Braves of Brownstown Central. Fans didn't have to wait long to cheer as the opening 30 seconds of the contest seen both teams find the scoreboard. The Pirates and Braves did not disappoint as fans were again given an exciting contest where neither team gave up until the last buzzer. Charlestown fell to the homestanding Braves 36-31 to fall to 0-2 on the season.

Local detective team seeks key to learning location of missing Austin man PDF Print E-mail

Paul W. Graupe Jr. of Austin has been missing one year and a little over nine months.
Graupe, 50, disappeared from his northside neighborhood in Austin some time on the afternoon of November 24, 2009. The slightly-built, dark-haired man’s features may be familiar to many in the community because his family has continued to post his likeness on yard signs and in buildings, hoping that someone, somewhere may know something that will allow the family to bring Paul home.
