Of the nine traffic accidents recorded in Scott County for the month of March, seven have involved injuries to 13 people.
The unlucky streak for motorists began on Wednesday, March 4, with a collision at the intersection of State Road 56 and State Road 203 east of Scottsburg shortly after 8 a.m.
Drivers were Brantly V. Tomlin, 19, Jeffersonville, and Donald E. Larson Jr., 28, Scottsburg.
Driver statements taken by Deputy Mark Shapinsky of the Sheriff's Department indicated that Tomlin was making a left turn from S.R. 203 onto westbound S.R. 56. He said he did not see Larson coming east on S.R. 56 in his 2000 Chevy Cavalier. Larson's car hit Tomlin's 1996 Pontiac Bonneville in its left rear side, causing the Cavalier to spin and go off the north side of the highway into a ditch line and overturning.

Two brothers are out on bail awaiting trials on possession of drugs that were scheduled after their arrests on Thursday, March 5.
The case developed when Scottsburg Patrolman Troy Ford was patrolling in the early morning hours of that Thursday. He stated in a probable cause affidavit that he witnessed “...suspicious activity...” around 4 a.m. which caused the officer to believe a burglary may be occurring at a car sales lot at the corner of U.S. Highway 31 South and State Road 356.

Warriors redeemed in first round of the sectional PDF Print E-mail

Madison defeated Scottsburg by seven in their regular season matchup 62-55, and the Warriors felt that they should have won that game, and set out to prove it.
Defeating Madison would be no easy task, as the Cubs had the home floor, and the bragging rights.
It mattered not for Scottsburg as they came out of the gate on fire from down town, as A.J. Humes and Mason Gregory would drain several early threes.  This would boost Scottsburg to a 10 point halftime lead that would grow in the second half.
The third quarter was even more lopsided against Madison, as Scottsburg outscored them 17-9, extending their lead even further.  The Cubs had one final run left in them, as they would begin to score in bunches in the fourth.
Scottsburg, too, would score a ton, as both teams would score over 25 points in the final period.
The Warriors were redeemed, winning 76 to 60.  Mason Gregory would be the highlight performer of the night, scoring 28 on six three pointers.  Many fans expected Colt Ryan of Batesville to steal the show, but he scored only 24 as Greensburg upset them in the first game.
This win would sent the Warriors to their first sectional title game since 2005, as they were set to play Greensburg.
