Imagine a Christmas tree ornamented with tiny porcelain dolls or one decked with sea shells.  Your dream of your most beautiful Christmas tree could come true at the Habitat for Humanity Christmas Tree Auction on Saturday, December 3!  Florists and other businesses, plus some very talented local citizens, have decorated and donated Christmas trees of all sizes.  They will be on display for pre-bidding beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 3, at Corydon Presbyterian Church, 568 Highway 62 West (just up the hill from the Corydon Post Office).  At 1 p.m. the live auction of all the trees plus specially crafted gift baskets will begin.

Community Foundation welcomes three new members to its Board of Directors PDF Print E-mail

The Scott County Community Foundation has welcomed three new members to its Board of Directors, announced chairman Joe Wolf. Pat Bridge, Barbara Broady and Lisa Conder all begin their three-year term in October.
Pat has been employed for AFLAC for 32 years. She is a member of First Christian Church and enjoys painting and traveling. She has one daughter, Pamela (Roger) Mosley; four grandchildren, Ryan Payne, Eric Payne, Laura Cox and Alan Mosley; and nine great-grandchildren.

Motion by Petty’s attorneys allowed; murder trial reset for April 16 PDF Print E-mail

A motion filed Tuesday, November 15, by the public defender attorneys representing accused killer Robert “Bobby” F. Petty has been approved and has caused the impending trial to be rescheduled for April 16, 2012.Petty, who is charged in the death of his ex-wife, Nina Rae Keown, was scheduled to go on trial in Scott Circuit Court on Monday, November 28. Approximately 150 prospective jurors had already been notified that a jury was to be selected from their pool starting that day.
