Greenville students and families charted their course for some reading spirits on March 1 by attending a program called The Treasure of Reading for students in Kindergarten through second grade.
More than 300 children and adults attended this program, which was filled with family activities to strengthen reading skills and promote a love for reading.

Investigation on-going in wake of accident that killed Scottsburg woman PDF Print E-mail

Clark County officers are still awaiting the outcome of toxicology reports and other evidence in connection with a fatal accident that happened north of Henryville on Saturday, March 26, that killed a Scottsburg woman.
A funeral service was conducted this past week for Christine Jones, 76, the Scottsburg woman who died at the scene of a two-car collision on U.S. Highway 31 north of Henryville on Saturday evening, March 26.

Time to enroll 4-H livestock PDF Print E-mail

All 4-H youth planning to exhibit Sheep, Swine, Beef Heifers, Beef Cow/Calf Pairs, Beef Feeder Calves, Goats, Dairy, Poultry, Rabbits or Lamas at the 2011 Clark County 4-H Fair must have their animal(s) enrolled, and with some species, weighed and ear tagged (All State Fair bound Sheep & Goats will be retinal scanned and all other Sheep will receive RFID tags), on SATURDAY, MAY14th.  The identification will take place from 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon at the Clark County 4-H Fairgrounds.  In addition, all Livestock Enrollment Forms, including Poultry & Rabbits must be turned in for these animals on or before May 14th. Exhibitors must have their Premise ID number to place on their 4-H livestock enrollment form in order to show at the 2011 Clark County 4-H Fair (Rabbits & Horses are exempt).

Jennings Township tax rates increase.... Property tax statements to arrive in mail soon; payments due May 10 PDF Print E-mail

Scott County Treasurer Iva Gasaway announced that she expects to mail property tax statements to owners in the next few weeks.
Gasaway said tax duplicates in the computer system have been approved and turned over to her office. The mailing will allow taxpayers about a month to pay their semi-annual tax installment by the usual May 10 deadline.
The Treasurer’s Office prints and mails statements and collects taxes.
