The Washington County Chamber of Commerce held their regular monthly meeting on February 23 at St. Vincent Salem Hospital. Manny Alvarez, Vice President of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, welcomed the crowd and conducted the meeting.
Marketing Director Anita Bush announced that Weathers Funeral Home and Washington County Artisans and Farmers were among those inducted into the Chamber of Commerce this month. She then reminded the audience that Friday Night on the Square will take place on May 18 this year and that vendor applications are now available at the Chamber’s office. “We had 105 booths at the fall Friday Night on the Square...we’re hoping for more this time.”

Clark man arrested on numerous charges PDF Print E-mail

Last week, troopers from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg arrested Billy Boyd French, 51, of Sellersburg, IN, following a week-long investigation involving thefts from vehicles parked at the Pilot Travel Plaza in Memphis, IN.

Cooler heads prevail in Greenville PDF Print E-mail

For the first time this year, things at the Greenville Town Council’s regular  meeting on Feb. 13 remained civil.    
The council passed two ordinances, one allocating the funds in which the Town Manager Randal Johnes will be paid and another concerning the town’s motor vehicle insurance.

Borden beats Salem in tourney re-match PDF Print E-mail

Salem traveled to Borden Friday night for a repeat of the Holiday Tourney Championship game. Salem started out strong but the fell behind. They recovered to within striking distance in the first, third and fourth quarters but couldn’t close the deal. Each time the game then moved away from them giving Borden a 60 to 48 win.

Clark County offering electronic property tax billing statements PDF Print E-mail

Taxpayers in Clark County have a new option for receiving their 2012 property tax statements – through their e-mail account.
Clark Board of Commissioners approved the concept of electronic property tax billing on February 16.
