A bizarre attack against a fellow female inmate at the Scott County Security Center at the end of December, 2010, has led to several criminal charges being filed against two women this month.
Samantha Williams, 30, Underwood, and Lorria Winchester, 38, are alleged to have attacked the woman, disrobing her in an apparent attempt to find drugs they thought the young woman had smuggled into the jail. Williams was taken into custody on Tuesday, May 10. Winchester was located and arrested on Wednesday, May 11.

Many media and public outlets have expressed concern for an increased likeliness of terrorist activity as a result of Osama Bin-Laden’s death on May 1, 2011. 
While there are presently no threats known for the State of Indiana, it is reasonable for all citizens to continue to remain vigilant and alert for activity that looks out of place or otherwise suspicious.

Car Crash in Harrison County Kills One and Injures Four Others PDF Print E-mail

On May 3, at approximately 8 p.m., troopers from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg along with Harrison County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an automobile crash on Faith Road just East of Wesley Chapel Road in Harrison County. When officers arrived they discovered a black 1999 Mitsubishi Galant and a blue 2002 Kia Sedona, both with extensive damage. The preliminary investigation reveals the 1999 Mitsubishi Galant was West Bound on Faith Road when it crossed the center of the roadway striking the 2002 Kia Sedona head on.

The driver of the 1999 Mitsubishi, Michelle E. Vaughn, 35, from Mauckport, IN was pronounced dead at the scene. Her passengers, Lenny R. Wade, 10, and Russell M. Wade, 8, both her sons, were transported by ambulance to the Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville, KY with unknown injuries. The driver of the Kia Sedona, Heather D. Seacat, 36, from Mauckport, IN was seriously injured and was transported by air ambulance to the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY. Her passenger, Neal H. Davison, 47, from Corydon, IN was also seriously injured and was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY by ambulance.

Seat belt use is unknown at this time.

This crash is still under investigation with Crash Reconstructionist from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg reconstructing the crash scene.

Assisting Agencies; Heath Township Fire Department, Harrison County E.M.S. and the Harrison County Coroner’s Office.

Traffic stop yields dope and money in Clark County PDF Print E-mail

On May 3, shortly after 12:48 PM, a trooper from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg stopped a gold 1999 Nissan for a traffic violation on Interstate 65 in Clark County, near the 22 Mile Marker. As the trooper was talking to the driver he could sense something just wasn’t right. Indiana State Police K-9, “Kilo” was deployed to the scene. Once at the scene “Kilo” alerted to the presence of possible narcotics in the stopped vehicle.

Three injured in crash near Greenville PDF Print E-mail

On April 27, 2011 at approximately 2:41 p.m., the Floyd County Sheriff’s Department received a call regarding an injury accident on I-64 westbound just before the Greenville exit (Exit 119) involving multiple vehicles.  
The Floyd County Combined Accident Reconstruction Team (CART) was called to the scene to assist in the investigation.
