Although there are several possibilities as to which team will win the upcoming Class 1A boys’ basketball Sectional 62 at Henryville, there appears to be one team which has managed to rise above the other teams so far.
As of Feb. 14, the Rock Creek Lions are 14-3 overall, and 5-0 against the sectional field, and they are 9-1 against other Class 1A teams.
So far, Rock Creek has defeated New Washington (67-53), South Central (69-48), CAI 979-54), Borden (65-63), and Lanesville (73-62).

Lady Dragons play with heart but fall short in Regional to No. 1 Evansville Memorial PDF Print E-mail

The Lady Dragons of Silver Creek traveled almost 100 miles down I-64 to Dubois County for a match up with the Class 3A No. 1 Lady Tigers of Evansville Memorial Saturday during the second game of the morning session at the Jasper Regional. The team was trying to bring a Regional title back to Sellersburg for the first time in school history. The last time Silver Creek played in Regional competition the seniors on this year’s squad were just toddlers at the early ages of three and four years old.

Fugitive sought on drug charges caught by U.S. Marshal, ISP near Austin PDF Print E-mail

One of two fugitives being sought by the U.S. Marshal’s Service and Indiana State Police (ISP) was caught on Tuesday, February 8, near Austin on State Road 256.
Roger D. Hall Jr., 25, Sellersburg, was taken into custody at the undisclosed location by members of the U.S. Marshal’s Service and Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force and officers of the ISP Sellersburg post.

In early January as everyone was trying to get back into their regular routine, one local student was preparing for an opportunity to do what he loves to do and what he has a clear passion for.
Colt Barker, a junior at Charlestown High School, was preparing his sermon to preach during the 2011 National Festival of Young Preachers. The unique festival brings young students from across the country with a passion about ministry together for three days to learn from each other, inspire each other and grow their faith together

Speeding Gets Three Arrested in Clark County PDF Print E-mail

On today’s date (2-22-11) shortly after noon, a trooper from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg stopped a silver BMW for speeding on Interstate 65 in Clark County. As the trooper was talking to the occupants she could smell an odor of Marijuana coming from the vehicle. After speaking with the four occupants of the vehicle and furthering her investigation Marijuana was located inside of the car.
