The 36th annual Crothersville Lions Club Red, White and Blue Festival kicks off June 9, for a flag waving salute to old Glory and military service veterans. This year’s event is June 9-11 held at the school grounds.
We’ll be bringing some local traditions and some new entrees to add to the festival flavor,” said local festival director Sherry Bridges.

Alleged purse theft through window results in burglary charge PDF Print E-mail

An Austin man now awaits an October jury trial to determine his innocence on charges of burglary and theft.
Lester W. Howard Jr., 31, faces one count each of the Class B and D felonies in connection with a May 2 incident at a relative’s home in Austin. Howard was reportedly seen near a window of the relative’s home on Broadway Street. Shortly afterward, a witness said Howard appeared to pull something from the window. He then walked away from the house, reportedly holding something under his shirt.

Floyd boys’ second in track regional PDF Print E-mail

The Floyd Central Highlanders managed to finish in second place in the IHSAA Boys track regional last Thursday. They amassed 57 points, to a total of 110 for Bloomington South, which won going away.
Floyd Central won three events with first place finishes.
