The 37th Annual Lanesville Heritage Weekend left nothing on the table as they say.  Careful planning and execution as well as beautiful weather drew large crowds and kept them entertained the whole weekend through.  Whether you came for the food, the attractions, or to compete in one of the many events, the 37th Annual Lanesville Heritage Weekend did not disappoint.

EHS boys XC second at Paoli PDF Print E-mail

The Eastern High School boys cross country team ran their best race of the season at the Paoli Invitational on Thursday, September 20.  The team finished in second out of 12 teams, losing to Northeast DuBois by 11 points. 
The top Musketeer runner was Khalil McDaniel, who finished second overall with a time of 18:43.

Local judge sets bails at $75,000 each for two suspected heroin dealers PDF Print E-mail

Two suspects involved in the alleged sale of heroin to undercover subjects are now scheduled for jury trials in January.
When Brian A. Leep, 28, and Aaron L. Fisher, 30, both of Scottsburg, appeared on September 17 for their initial court hearings before Circuit Court Judge Roger Duvall, each man had a not guilty plea entered for him. Each is charged with a Class A felony of dealing in a Schedule 1 controlled substance. Leep also faces a Class A misdemeanor charge of possession of paraphernalia.

Salem’s air attack grounds Musketeers PDF Print E-mail

In 2011, the Salem High School football team managed just two wins, both against a first-year program, Silver Creek.
This year, the Lions have already surpassed that win total with two games remaining. The latest win came Friday, 40-21, in Pekin against the Eastern Musketeers.
