At approximately 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 11, Charlestown Officers were dispatched to the 10000 block of S.R. 62 in reference to an injury accident involving a Greater Clark County School Bus. Preliminary investigation revealed that bus number 126 was traveling west on S.R. 62 and was either stopped or was in the process of coming to a stop at the marked Railroad Crossing when the driver of small passenger truck collided into the rear of the bus.

One Harrison County student has been named a recipient of a four-year, full-tuition scholarship as the Harrison County Community Foundation 2012 Lilly Endowment Community Scholar. Miranda Kaake will receive full tuition to the Indiana college of her choice and a $900 yearly stipend for required books and equipment. Miranda intends to study Biology.
The significant recovery facing Southern Indiana communities from tornadoes early this month leaving a 50-mile trail of damage received a boost today as the Indiana Association of United Ways announced a grant of $3.15 million from Lilly Endowment Inc. for disaster recovery. IAUW will administer the grant designed to help communities and individuals.
