According to a 2011 report put out by the Census Bureau, roughly 42% of adult residents in Washington County have only attained the educational equivalency of a high school diploma. 34% of adults have gone on to accomplish some level of college work, including about 18% who received a degree, and another 23% had not been able to receive a complete high school education.

St. Vincent Salem Hospital is now taking applications for teen volunteers during summer break. St. Vincent Salem Hospital’s teen volunteer program is designed to provide teens with experience in the healthcare field.  This serves as an opportunity to gain experience in healthcare, develop job skills, take an active role in community service, meet new friends, develop new interests, and develop high self-esteem.
