Class B felonies have been filed in Scott Circuit Court against a Scottsburg couple, who are accused of masterminding the burglary of a neighbor’s home on March 13. Tiffany Stone, 29, and Daniel L. Stone, 31, are implicated in the illegal entry at a home on State Road 356 and the theft of several pieces of jewelry.

Weather was a definite factor in three vehicular crashes occurring in Scott County recently. In the first mishap at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, March 25, a woman driver lost control of the 2000 Ford she was driving because of slick conditions.

According to a 2011 report put out by the Census Bureau, roughly 42% of adult residents in Washington County have only attained the educational equivalency of a high school diploma. 34% of adults have gone on to accomplish some level of college work, including about 18% who received a degree, and another 23% had not been able to receive a complete high school education.

St. Vincent Salem Hospital’s teen volunteer program is designed to provide teens with experience in the healthcare field. This serves as an opportunity to gain experience in healthcare, develop job skills, take an active role in community service, meet new friends, develop new interests, and develop high self-esteem.
