A couple of local basketball teams got the season started last night.

The following are results from those games:

Salem-Crawford

Salem's Alex Davidson poured in 24 points and Sadie Soliday added 15 in a 53-46 win at Crawford County.

The Lady Lions (1-0) trailed at the end of the first quarter , 15-12, but used a 10-4, second quarter run to grab a slim lead at intermission.

The Lady Wolfpack again started the third quarter strong leading 31-26 heading into the final period.

Salem's offense came alive in the final eight minutes as they scored 27 points on their way to the win.

Salem's next game will be Tuesday, Nov. 18 at home against Southwestern.

Henryville romps

Henryville (1-0) allowed just two points in the second half as they routed Irvington Prep 71-6.

Eastern falls

The Eastern Lady Musketeers opened the season at Mitchell and suffered a 47-43 loss to the Lady Jackets.

Eastern will be back in action Saturday when they travel to Southwestern Hanvoer.

November jury trial for former youth minister rescheduled to May, 2015 PDF Print E-mail

The jury trial for former youth minister Brien K. Stout of Scottsburg has been rescheduled. Stout, who is charged with two felony counts of child molesting and one of obstruction of justice, was to have gone on trial in Scott Circuit Court on Tuesday, November 18.
