An estimated 3,000-plus fans were on hand for the annual Austin-Scottsburg boys’ basketball rivalry game on Wednesday night, November 23.
In a game not soon to be forgotten, the night had all the elements of classic Indiana basketball, including screaming cheer blocks to a Scottsburg comeback from a 23-point deficit and near win – and just plain old rivalry fun at Meyer Gym in downtown Scottsburg.

Pay the Day in December to Join the Y PDF Print E-mail

The YMCA of Harrison County is having a pay the day joining fee special for the month of December. Those interested in joining the YMCA of Harrison County can pick their joining fee price based on the day of the month they wish to join. Those who join on December 1 will pay $1 for their joining fee. Those who pay on December 2 will pay $2 for their joining fee. Those who pay on December 28 will pay $28 for their joining fee. The pay the day joining fee special will only take place in December. With the exception of Christmas Day, in which the YMCA of Harrison County will be closed, non-members may choose their joining day. The pay the day joining fee special will only be accepted at the YMCA of Harrison County and can be applied to any YMCA of Harrison County membership or to any Metro Community-Wide membership.

Pirates plan for Coaches versus Cancer game on December 9 with Generals PDF Print E-mail

The Charlestown High School Pirate Basketball program has joined forces with the Clarksville General Basketball program and designated their Friday, December 9 contest to be a Coaches versus Cancer Game.  Between now and December 9, members of the Pirate Basketball program, including the Basketball Cheerleading squad, are taking donations on behalf of the American Cancer Society. Donate a dollar or more and sign an American Cancer Society Coaches vs. Cancer cut?out.  The cut?out shows you support American Cancer Society research or even shows a donation in honor of known cancer victim or survivor.  The cut?outs will be affixed to the walls of the CHS Sports Arena, and on display for the night of the Coaches versus Cancer game, December 9.
