Before the West Washington girls’ basketball team could blink they were in a whole against Northeast Dubois in the first round of Class A Sectional 61 February 8 in Campbellsburg. They never recovered and fell to the Lady Jeeps 66-45.
The Lady Senators fell behind 8-0, 17-3 and finally trained 21-3 at the end of the first quarter.

The Washington County Commissioner’s regular meeting on Feb. 7 was primarily informational, but the group did make decisions about pressing issues.
The biggest issue addressed was the hiring of a full-time person to clean the courthouse.

State Senator Richard D. Young and State Representatives Rhonda Rhodes and Steve Davidson met with the public at the Harrison County Justice Center in Corydon on the morning of February 4, 2012. The members of the Indiana General Assembly were in town for the annual Harrison County Legislative Update, an event co-sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and Farm Bureau of Harrison County, to answer questions from the audience and update them on current state legislation as the conversation directed. Peter J. Schickel, Legislative Coordinator, presided over the meeting.

Borden boys roll on with two wins on the road PDF Print E-mail

Thursday evening Borden traveled to Medora the Saturday afternoon they went to Springs Valley (SV) in French Lick. Due to the girl’s sections the Saturday game started at 1 p.m. But the story started back on Wednesday when Cody Bachman, a starter and big factor in Borden’s then 14-1 record, broke his leg. It was a sever break and will put him out for the season. After this past week’s play it appears they have made the needed adjustments. Though Bachman was a major factor in the team’s success and it is a terrible accident for him and the team, this team is rather deep.

Sherman Minton Bridge May Reopen a Week Early PDF Print E-mail

Striping crews to restore I-265 ramp lanes at I-64 as weather permits


NEW ALBANY, Ind. – Based upon the progress observed during ongoing construction inspections, the Indiana Department of Transportation estimates the Sherman Minton Bridge may reopen approximately a week earlier than the contractor’s aggressive March 1 deadline. An exact date for reopening the bridge is not known, and more information will be shared as it becomes available.
