With air temperatures in the low thirties, Blue River Services warmly hosted its 5th annual Splash and Shiver for Blue River on Saturday, March 1st at Buffalo Trace Park in Ramsey.  Brisk temperatures were no match for the 97 participants and 35 volunteers who turned out for the much anticipated days’ events.

Last Monday, March 10, several investors, builders and Charlestown city officials gathered on Grace Avenue in Charlestown to participate in a ground breaking, one year in the making. A dozen people grabbed gold handled shovels and broke ground for the new Cobblestone Hotel and Suites in Charlestown as several people looked on.

The Salem Eagles club will host a Chili Benefit supper for the “Prayers for Anna” Heart Transplant fund.
The menu included chili with cheese for a $5 donation.

Two brothers allegedly seen inside a closed business were taken into custody by Scottsburg police on the same day after they were again seen near where the business owner and officers were talking about the crime.
