On November 6, 2010 at approximately 9:22 PM the Floyd County Sheriff’s Department began receiving calls regarding a serious injury accident on US 150 west of SR 335.  Upon arrival of Greenville Township Fire Department, two subjects Jorail D. Looney, 20, Louisville and Peggy Phelps, 60 of Georgetown.
The Floyd County Combined Accident Reconstruction Team (CART) was called to investigate.

Oftentimes when you have a losing season in high school basketball, you are going through either an unsettled personnel situation, or else a rash of injuries.
In the case of the North Harrison Lady Cats, their 2009-10 campaign was a little of both.
First, last year’s four seniors played behind the eight seniors from the year before, and they in some cases didn’t see much varsity action until last year.

Clark County voters took time last Tuesday to make their voices heard as they made some changes at the local level and helped the Clark County Republican Party make history.
According to Jamey Noel, Chairman of the Clark County Republican Party, the party won their first-ever courthouse seats with Auditor-elect Monty Snelling and Treasurer-elect David Reinhardt.

Pirates fall in Sectional Championship at Indian Creek PDF Print E-mail

Pirate Nation came out in full force last Friday night as they traveled 90 minutes north to cheer on their Pirates. The Pirate Nation witnessed the first football Sectional Championship game since 1996 where Charlestown had the opportunity to bring home the trophy. The fans bundled up in heavy winter coats, gloves, scarves and blankets, many drinking their favorite coffee or hot chocolate as they would not let a little wind and frigid temperatures and even some snow, stop their pride in cheering on the visiting Pirates.

New Washington cheerleaders Do it Again in 2010! PDF Print E-mail

The New Washington High School Varsity Cheerleading Team traveled to New Castle this past Saturday and competed in the Indiana Association of High School Principal State Cheerleading Championships. This makes the fourth time in school history the Mustangs have advanced past Regional to compete at the state level.
