What is Being Done About the Substance Abuse Epidemic in Scott County? PDF Print E-mail

We hear it all around us, “the substance abuse problems are epidemic in our county, and no one is doing anything about it!” There is a group doing a great deal with members who are on the front lines actively addressing and helping those who struggle with alcohol, tobacco, and other drug abuse and addiction. CEASe of Scott County (the Coalition to Eliminate the Abuse of Substances) has 50+ members strong who are doing what they can to reduce the incidence and prevalence of substance abuse and addictions among youth and adults in Scott County.

Annual Bank on Good Health at Scott County State Bank PDF Print E-mail

Bank on Good Health will be held at the Scott County State Bank on Thursday April 5th from 8:30am to 11:00am. Scott Memorial Hospital and The Scott County State Bank host this annual health fair to promote general health and the importance of preventative care in our community. Cooler heads prevail in Greenville PDF Print E-mail

For the first time this year, things at the Greenville Town Council’s regular  meeting on Feb. 13 remained civil.    
The council passed two ordinances, one allocating the funds in which the Town Manager Randal Johnes will be paid and another concerning the town’s motor vehicle insurance.

Borden beats Salem in tourney re-match PDF Print E-mail

Salem traveled to Borden Friday night for a repeat of the Holiday Tourney Championship game. Salem started out strong but the fell behind. They recovered to within striking distance in the first, third and fourth quarters but couldn’t close the deal. Each time the game then moved away from them giving Borden a 60 to 48 win.
