A veteran speaker and re-enactor will bring to life one of his favorite topics, “Pioneer Life in 1810,” at the Scott County Heritage Center and Museum on Saturday, September 8.

The North Harrison Cougars hosted the Salem Lions on August 31. Even though the teams seemed evenly matched for the most part, the Lions defeated the Cougars 21-0.

Although neither team scored in the first quarter, it was far from uneventful. On the first possession of the game, North Harrison got the football within 10 yards but turned it over to Salem. Both teams continued to go back and forth for the rest of the quarter.

Hurricane Isaac rolled through Southern Indiana last Friday night, and ceded to clear skies just in time for kick-off in the Patoka Lake Athletic Conference (PLAC) varsity football matchup between the West Washington Senators and Springs Valley Blackhawks. The Senators showed the force of their own nature by amassing 420 yards in total offense to defeat the Blackhawks 38-6.


YMCA Preschool adds SMART Board PDF Print E-mail

The YMCA is proud to announce the addition of a SMART Board to their preschool curriculum.  All three county school corporations now utilize SMART Board technology in their kindergarten classrooms.  A SMART Board is an electronic white board that allows teachers to enhance instruction and learning by engaging learners via the interactive touch screen.  The addition of the SMART Board was made possible by a grant from the WCCF Women’s Giving Circle.

Trip down-under helped former EHS basketball player accomplish D-1 dream PDF Print E-mail

Michah Wilcher played basketball for the Musketeers during his days at Eastern High School. After graduating in 2006, however, he focused on being a student.
That all changed five years later when several members of the Bond University basketball team in Australia noticed his talent during a pick-up game.
