Local woman catches nearly three-foot long Muskie PDF Print E-mail

Becky O’Connor proudly displays her catch of a 33 ½” Muskie that she caught while on vacation in northern Wisconsin with her husband Terry. The Muskie is often considered by sport fishermen to be the pinnacle of North American game fish, it is the largest predatory fish in fresh water in this continent and the largest catch on record was 72 inches in length weighing in at 70 pounds.

Charlestown’s Daniel leads South All-Stars PDF Print E-mail

Former Charlestown Pirate Quarterback Aaron Daniel far from disappointed the 50 or so loud and proud hometown fans who made Friday’s (July 19) journey to Indianapolis’ North Central High School. Truth be told, he made another couple thousand fans, who were in attendance supporting their favorite Indiana Football All-Stars. Daniel has always had a knack for and getting done what needed to be on the football field; and during Friday’s North-South All-Star Classic, there were no exceptions. Daniel alternated games series’ as quarterback with Drake Christen, the current Indiana Mr. Football from State Champion Lawrence Central. Daniel came ready to play no matter who he was trading time with; as on his first series of the game he connected with Alex Parrett (Cardinal Ritter HS/Wabash College) for a 38 yard touchdown pass to put the South All-Stars on the scoreboard.

The Horseshoe Foundation of Floyd County awarded $275,000 to community organizations on Wednesday, June 26th, 2013 through the spring grants cycle.  The celebration was held at the Carnegie Center for Art and History, 201 East Spring Street, New Albany, IN.
