Georgetown Christian Church is continuing its very successful Sports Shorts series of sports fundamentals camps for children ages first-fifth grades.
The next camp, held at the church on Tuesday October 19, 26 and November 2 from 6-7:30 p.m. will feature wrestling. Children in grades first – fifths are encouraged to attend.

Bobby Petty pleads not guilty in Nina Keown murder case during court hearing PDF Print E-mail

Robert “Bobby” Petty sat alone on Thursday morning, September 30, at the defendant’s table in Scott Circuit Court.
With his manacled hands resting on the table, Petty quietly responded when requested as Judge Roger Duvall took him through the formalities of the court hearing at which Petty was charged with the murder of his ex-wife, Nina Rae Keown.

SC girls golf takes conference title for first time in school history, earn trip to Regional PDF Print E-mail

The Silver Creek Lady Dragons golf team left their mark in the history books.
The girls made school history recently by taking the Mid Southern Conference title. While the goal was reached, the girls were just not satisfied. They went on to be runners-up at Sectional to Floyd Central and participated in Regional at Eagle Valley Golf Course in Evansville. The regional appearance was also the first time in school history for the girls golf program.
Head Coach Joe Ledbetter was also named Mid Southern Conference Coach of the Year.

Pirate football’s new offense clobbers Salem, 44?2 PDF Print E-mail

The Pirate football team got some injuries healed and a new offensive scheme to dominate the Lions (0?7) on Salem’s homecoming night.  
The Pirates (4?3) only needed 50 plays, generating 330 yards of total offense, to score 44 points on the Lions.

Strange resigns as Delaney Park manager PDF Print E-mail

The Delaney Creek Park Board held a special meeting Tuesday evening at the county court house to accept the resignation of Park Manager Chris Strange.

The board met in executive session at 7:30 p.m., holding a public meeting immediately following at 8 p.m.

Board President Chuck Williams opened the meeting and then turned it over to attorney Drew Wright. Wright said Strange gave notice of his resignation Sept. 28, with an effective date of December 31, 2010.

The board approved the resignation unanimously.
