William Carl Bryant, the Scottsburg man held over the weekend in the Scott County Security Center while criminal charges were being prepared against him by the Prosecutor’s Office, entered a not guilty plea to two counts of battery on Tuesday, March 26.

Commissioners, County Council joint meeting today about jail construction project PDF Print E-mail

Following the Scott County Commissioners’ meeting that begins at 9 a.m. today (Wednesday), those officials will have a joint session with the Scott County Council to discuss the possibility of building a new jail. Plans are for Commissioners to meet in an closed executive session at 8:30 a.m., followed by their regular bi-monthly business meeting at 9 a.m. Those will be followed at 11 a.m. by the joint session with the County Council.

EHS Soil Judging team striking new ground PDF Print E-mail

East Washington High School’s FFA Soil Judging teams walked away from the Indiana State Soil Judging competition last month with two of the top five spots -  a first for Eastern’s program. The high marks are an impressive looking feat on paper, but  it was simply one more step in what’s been a remarkable journey for these teenage soil judges this year.
