Student actors bring a classic to the stage with help from guest director and FCHS alumnus, Amy Harpenau.
Jane Austen’s classic novel comes to life on the Floyd Central stage for one weekend only!  Enjoy the romance, humor, and wit of Austen in this unique adaptation by one of Louisville’s favorite playwrights: Jon Jory.  During his 32-year tenure as Producing Director at Actors Theatre of Louisville, Jory directed over 125 plays and created the Humana Festival of New American Plays.  In his adaptation of PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, Jory preserves the articulate and witty language of Austen while allowing the story to flow seamlessly in a swift and whimsical fashion that truly invites the audience into the world of the characters.

Jakes event draws large crowd PDF Print E-mail
The Delaney Creek Longbeards hosted their 5th Annual Jakes Event on April 5th , 2014 at the Sara and David Day farm.
The day started at 8:30 with registration taken by Tiffany Hoke, Keith Day and Zanya Caudill.  Doughnuts and juice were served to a total of 97 youth and 93 adults attended the event.

Charlestown Community Building closed after 70 years PDF Print E-mail
The Charlestown Community Building Council is sad to announce after 70 years the Charlestown Community Building has closed it’s doors for the final time. Several years ago, after a severe rain storm the building was flooded with storm drainage water overflow. Repairs were made and the building was reopened. Storm water from last week’s rain event once again flooded the building leaving behind an inch of mud covering the entire floor. Once volunteers removed the mud they discovered severe floor damage and damage to the foundation.

Man pleads not guilty to alleged purchases of methamphetamine precursors PDF Print E-mail

A jury trial has been scheduled in Scott Superior Court for Tony Curtis Combs, 51, Crothersville, on three counts of possession of a precursor by a methamphetamine offender.
