Indiana State Police investigators served a search warrant near Salem on Wednesday as part of an ongoing drug investigation. As a result of the search warrant, numerous drugs and drug related items as well as weapons and cash were taken into evidence.

Salem City officials contacted local media last week to inform them there would be a major announcement Monday morning of more than 100 jobs and an investment into the community of between $8 and $9 million.

That’s exactly what happened as Kimball International announced that they are closing their metal fabrication production operations out west and moving it to Kimball’s facility in Salem.
