The Washington County Chamber of Commerce recently met on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at the Piper Flight Museum, located on the Salem Airport grounds. Lowell and Rhonda DuPoy, co-owners and operators of the museum, sponsored this month’s meeting.

YMCA announces new leadership |

The Washington County Family YMCA has chosen new leadership for the their organization with the announcement of new board members and a decision on their CEO selection process. Ryan Penrod, Scott County Family YMCA CEO, will be serving as the Interim CEO of the Washington County Family YMCA via a mangement agreement between Scott and Washington County YMCAs. Steve Brewer, Board Chair stated, “Following an extensive and thorough CEO selection process we have chosen to pursue a management agreement with Scott County Family YMCA for their CEO to assume the duties of CEO of our YMCA as well.”

STATEHOUSE – Governor Mike Pence recently signed Senate Enrolled Act (SEA) 246 into law. The law was sponsored by State Representative Steve Davisson (R-Salem) in the House, which defines an “owner”, when referring to someone who employs or contracts individuals to dispense controlled substances, to maintain a controlled substance registration.
