The Washington County Chamber of Commerce is seeking vendors for the Elikosi beer and wine festival, a brand new event that will be held at Salem Speedway on September 1 from 2 to 9 pm. The booth rental fee will be $100 per 10’ x 10’ deep space, and selling area is limited to 10’ x 10’ spaces. This fee will include 120-volt electricity for running lights and a register.

Some called it a “conflict” because the United States did not actually declare the “war.” However, as I began researching events for a commemorative display I found it mostly referred to as the “The Vietnam War.”
Governor Mitch Daniels said he isn’t doing anything different in his final six months of office then he did through the first seven years. He said from day one he has made is a point to mingle and spend time with residents of the Hoosier state. That’s what he did prior to the start of last week’s Fourth of July parade in Pekin.
The Washington County Farmers’ Market received it’s first official entry into the 2012 “Largest Tomato” contest co-sponsored by- “Good Earth Master Gardeners of Washington County” & Washington County Farmers’ Market and even though, it is not believed that this record tomato of just over one pound will win the final ‘record’ tomato pay-off of $20.00 per pound for the “Biggest Tomato in Indiana; the grower did receive a “Big Tomato” certificate and a $5.00 Record Setting Market Buck.
