The Lady Lions easily put another mark in the win column Thursday night in a home game against Trinity Lutheran High School. The final score was 56-46.

With the election of 2011 a little more than a few weeks old, the political season of 2012 got underway Monday when Jonathan George announced his plans to seek election in the 9th district.
The seat is currently held by Todd Young.

Salem man shoots self in foot in hunting accident PDF Print E-mail


Matthew Caudill of Salem went deer hunting on November 15, 2011, near Enon Church Rd in Washington County.  Indiana Conservation Officers were called after Caudill suffered from a self inflicted gunshot wound to his left foot.  Caudill was climbing his tree stand and had tied a pull rope to his shot gun.  When Caudill started to pull the slack from the rope attached to his firearm, his gun fired and hit him on his left foot.  Caudill was transported to St. Vincent Hospital in Salem and later transported by ambulance to University of Louisville Hospital.

Former Salem High School standout Gunner Erwin scored 15 points, grabbed nine boards and blocked four shots and Eastern alum Clay Starrett added 14 points as the Franklin College team opened the season with a 79-70 win over Fontbonne.

Now, the people have re-elected him and he said he doesn’t plan to stop working for them.
