West Washington basketball has been stuck in a rut when it comes to sectional titles as they have not won one since 1996. However, all of the changed on Saturday night, March 5 when they defeated Borden 55-48 in the title game of the Class A Sectional 61 on their home floor. This was head coach Sean Smith’s first title with the Senators.
The West Washington boy’s basketball team has been charting their ship all season and has come up with ways to win a sectional and regional. Now they point that ship in uncharted waters as they move into the semi state round for the first time in school’s history.

Over the final four weeks of the regular season, the West Washington boys basketball team got on a roll, a roll that couldn’t have envisioned when the season began. However, they were winning the games when it mattered most as they went through sectionals and regionals and made their way to the Class A Seymour Semistate.
Sporting an entry list featuring shrewd veterans, young chargers and former Salem winners, Sunday’s Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA 200, the third ARCA Racing Series event of the 2016 season, is shaping up as another wide open affair on the famed southern Indiana high banks.
