The Washington County Council was pleased to hear that the county has been improved from an A- with a negative outlook to an A- with a stable outlook. The council made the announcement during its meeting Monday.

On April 9, 2015, Trooper Brett Walters and Detective Scott Stewart of the Indiana State Police were investigating James A. Walton, 41, a convicted sex offender, for failing to properly register his current place of residence as required by law. Walton, along with Jonathan Neil Hayes, 31, and Eva M. Campbell, 25, were residing at 3732 South Pixley Knob Road in eastern Washington County. Campbell’s five year old child was also staying at the residence.
