An Eastern team desamated by injuries combined with a Salem football team determined to get back to having a winning record made for a lopsided county match-up Friday.
Salem scored early, often and in a variety of ways as they rolled to a 57-7 victory over the visiting Musketeers.
It took just five plays for Salem to get the scoring started once they took possession, but that play, a 50-yard run by Austin Jerrell, was nullified by a holding penalty.

Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating an off-road motorcycle accident that occurred in Washington County yesterday evening. At approximately 12:45 p.m., conservation officers were called to the accident scene on private property located off of Horner’s Chapel Road near Pekin.

Eastern High School Principal Darin Farris announced last week that Nancy Dalton has been named a Commended Student in the 2014 National Merit Scholarship Program. A letter of Commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Program, which conducts the program, will be presented to the principal to this scholastically talented senior.

Join others for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Harvest of Hope Walk in Washington County that will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Cornucopia Farm, 5444 N. Rutherford Hollow Rd., Scottsburg (just of Hwy. 56 halfway between Salem & Scottsburg). Registration will begin at 8 a.m. with the walk starting at 8:30 a.m. This Harvest of Hope Walk is a feeder event for the Bloomington Making Strides event, so the website is the “Washington County Harvest of Hope Team” under their event.
