The search by law enforcement agencies is continuing for the man who robbed the main office of the Scott County State Bank on Tuesday morning, April 24, and the perpetrator in a similar robbery on Monday morning, April 30, at a Pekin Bank in bordering Washington County.

Salem softball wins county title PDF Print E-mail

Last week was filled with highs and lows for the SHS girls’ softball team.
The Lady Lions started the week with a loss to BNL, regrouped to win an easy game over Austin.
They lost at Clarksville last Thursday and then rebounded to beat WW and Eastern in the annual county classic.
The win against Austin was historic as the Lady Lions’ pitcher, Amber Kilburn threw a no-hitter.

Police seeking suspect in Pekin robbery PDF Print E-mail

The PNC branch in Pekin was robbed at approximately 10:30 a.m. Monday morning.
The suspect is reportedly armed and did leave the bank with cash, but according to Indiana State Police Detective Scott Stewart did not show weapon.

Bowman holds off Kimmel to win Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA 200 PDF Print E-mail

Alex Bowman of Tuscon, Arizona battled two racing legends Sunday to pick up his first win of the season in the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA 200 at Salem Speedway.
The first legend was the track itsself, the second was Clarksville’s Frank Kimmel.
