It didn't take long for former Salem girls' basketball Head Coach Wade Tomlinson to get his first win in the same role at West Washington.

The Lady Senators opened the season on Nov. 9 with a loss 47-39 loss to Borden, but regrouped on Nov. 11 to pick up a 69-53 victory over Clarksville.

The Republican Party made its voice heard Tuesday, Nov. 2, during the 2010 primary election. Locally, Republicans won every contested seat for state and county offices.
One of the most watched races was the State Representative District 73 race between Republican Steve Davisson and Democrat Ryan Bower. Davisson won the seat with 5,353 votes, or by 68.38 percent.

How much did both candidates spend on District 73 race PDF Print E-mail

The job of State Representative in Indiana pays less than $20,000 a year and the money spend by both parties in the race for the District 73 seat in the state House of Representatives could pay that salary for more than a decade.
The money spent by candidates Steve Davisson (Republican) and Ryan Bower (Democrat) total more than $350,000 and that doesn’t include outside spending by the state parties which pushes the totals to easily more than $500,000.
According to statistics obtained by this paper from Secretary of State Todd Rokita’s office, Davisson began the race with $14 in his campaign account, but through monetary contributions that new number at the end of the campaign had grown to $249, 291.07.
