New airport to soon have a paved runway PDF Print E-mail

A ceremony was held Thursday afternoon to kick off the next phase of the new airport project. Several county and city leaders, as well as members of the Board of Aviation, were there for the beginning of the paving portion.
Board president Ronnie Floyd said board members, along with city and county officials, have spent a lot of time and effort to get the project this far.

On April 9, 2015, Trooper Brett Walters and Detective Scott Stewart of the Indiana State Police were investigating James A. Walton, 41, a convicted sex offender, for failing to properly register his current place of residence as required by law. Walton, along with Jonathan Neil Hayes, 31, and Eva M. Campbell, 25, were residing at 3732 South Pixley Knob Road in eastern Washington County. Campbell’s five year old child was also staying at the residence.
