The Eastern High School girls’ basketball team started the season strong on Tuesday, Nov. 8 with a 63-51 win over visiting Mitchell.
The Lady Musketeers used strong performances by junior Krista Roberts and senior Jocelyn Mousty.

Salem City Council votes down use of golf carts, honors SHS athletes PDF Print E-mail

The Salem City Council gathered for their regular monthly meeting on Monday, November 14, 2011.
The council is comprised of a five-member board of elected officials who preside over Salem’s various districts. City Attorney Andrew Wright, Clerk-Treasurer Patricia “Pat” Persinger and Mayor David Bower were also present at the meeting.
The proceedings opened with the presentation of a few Certificates of Appreciation. These certificates are special honors bestowed by the city of Salem to groups within the community who’s activities have had a positive impact on the city and its residents.
